Organic Sencha Green Tea: Grown in Nature's Bounty
Our Organic Sencha Green Tea is a true testament to the beauty and quality of Japanese tea. Cultivated in the renowned Uji region of Kyoto, these tea leaves are grown under direct sunlight in open-air tea farms, resulting in their deep green color and mellow, aromatic profile.
Sencha green tea accounts for approximately 70% of Japan's total tea production, making it the most widely consumed variety in the country. What sets our Organic Sencha apart is that it is certified 100% organic by both JONA and JAS, with only 4% of domestic tea production meeting this exceptional standard.
Our team of tea experts carefully assess the quality of the tea leaves each year, selecting the finest first-harvest varieties, such as Yabukita and Saemidori, to create the ultimate Sencha experience. Through a meticulous manufacturing process, including far-infrared roasting and pasteurization, we ensure that the tea's original aroma and full-bodied flavor are perfectly preserved.
Enjoy Sencha Green Tea: Hot or Cold
The Sencha green tea leaves undergo a gentle steaming process, which halts the oxidation and fermentation, preserving their vibrant green color and removing any grassy odors. This crucial step has a significant impact on the color and quality of the final product.
For a delightful hot brewing experience, we recommend using water temperature between 70-90°C. When serving multiple people, pour the tea in batches to ensure uniform taste and quantity in each cup.
Alternatively, cold brew Sencha green tea (known as Mizudashi Sencha) offers a mellow and refreshing experience. Simply add 3g of tea leaves (1 heaped tsp) to 100ml of water and brew in the refrigerator for 1-6 hours, depending on the batch size. The cold brewing process makes it difficult to extract bitter and astringent compounds, while also preserving the tea's vitamin C content.
Elevate Your Sencha Experience
To further enhance your Sencha green tea enjoyment, we recommend pairing it with complementary fruits, such as lemon, peach, pear, or blueberry. The natural sweetness and acidity of these fruits create a harmonious balance with the tea's inherent flavors.
Explore our wide selection of premium Sencha green tea and other Japanese tea varieties, including Mugicha, Genmaicha, Oolongcha, and Hojicha. Discover the essence of Japanese tea culture and elevate your everyday moments with YAMASAN.
